Clanwilliam Group acquires another NHS technology provider

Clanwilliam Group LogoDublin-based, Clanwilliam Group has added another company to the growing list of healthcare businesses in its stable. The acquisition of Medisec Software means that it has acquired 13 healthcare technology businesses in the last three years.

Medisec Software LogoEstablished in 1992 and based in Cheshire, Medisec Software provides paperless digital dictation and clinical correspondence solutions to the NHS. Its technology provides auditable reporting to track correspondence as they progress through the NHS system, from hospitals to GPs. It currently processes approximately 5 million documents every year.

It is particularly strong in the Midlands and North of England, where it works with many NHS Foundation Trusts, including City Hospitals Sunderland, Central Manchester University Hospitals and Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Within the last 14 months, Clanwilliam has invested £9.5m into technology companies focusing on the NHS, including Bluespier last year and Maxwell Stanley Consulting in March this year.

The deal will allow Medisec Software to benefit from synergies with other Clanwilliam businesses and extend its reach across the NHS. Its technology is a good match for many of the key priorities across the NHS, such as digitising records, reducing the delivery time of clinical correspondence, and, of course, cutting costs.
