Martin Courtney joined TechMarketView in February 2016 as Principal Analyst.

He has been undertaking detailed research of the ICT market for the past 10 years, specialising latterly in data centre and cloud services, connectivity (enterprise and telco) and the related security issues.

Martin monitors market trends to identify and explain disruptive technologies and their effect on both the market and the players. He works closely with vendors and service providers to assess individual company strategies and capabilities, and provide competitive intelligence.

Having started his career in the Home Office Research and Statistics Department, Martin moved on to a software company specialising in the development, installation, maintenance and support of network systems and applications for GP surgeries and hospitals.

He later became a technology journalist working for a range of business and consumer titles including Computing, PC Advisor, IT Week and PC Direct, eventually narrowing his focus to cover the networking, security and telecommunications markets.

Martin has a BA (Hons) degree in Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of Nottingham.
